Clinic Description:

PRUMC Sports and Rec. is proud to announce that our own Scott Paterson, will be hosting a 1 week clinic focusing on the fundamentals of play in the post position.

Scott played at the University of Akron before beginning a 16 year professional career.   Scott was a member of the Canadian National Team 1991-1993 and in 1999 was named 1^st Team World All Star at the World Games.  He conducted clinics for the Toronto Raptors and has provided instructional clinics and private lessons in over 30 countries.   Prior to working with PRUMC Sports and Recreation he was an instructor at the Suwannee Sports Academy. 

Designed for all players ages 8 – 13, this one week clinic will be sure to take any player’s game to a higher level.  The clinic is not limited to players who intend to play in the post, but is for anyone hoping to gain a better understanding of the post position fundamentals and how to gain a competitive advantage by increasing their knowledge and understanding of one of the most critical positions in the sport of basketball.   

This “Post” clinic will focus on post play fundamentals such as footwork, drop steps, jump hooks (with both hands), duck-ins and up and under moves. Plyometrics and dot drill exercises will also be utilized to help players become proficient in these fundamentals and be able to improve their play even when practicing and training alone during the summer months.
