Class Description
(Ages 3-18)

Children and Teens have fun, make new friends, and grow stronger in body, mind and spirit, developing as individuals,  and as "team members".   All Dancers are Grouped by Age, Grade, Type of Class Desired, Day & Time Availability.  Class sizes are limited to insure safety, fun, and individual attention for every student.   Students at every age are empowered to create their own dances, and learn to apply age appropriate dance technique in original choreography created especially for each class by their professional instructor/mentors.   Grades 2-12 Elementary, Middle, and High School “COMPANY” classes are available for interested students in who enjoy learning to choreograph and performing more than 1 dance per year, in shows  2-3 times per year. Costumed Spring Recitals at Pace Academy for ALL Students held in Early May, (except for the youngest 3’s-who begin Dance in January ’09- their costumed “recital in class” is at their last class in April).

Martha Candler, DancerKids Studio Director, (BFA, 7 yrs teaching experience), choreographs and teaches almost all of our dance classes for Ages 3 and Up at PRUMC -Morning, Lunch, Afternoon and Evening- including most Company classes for Grades 2-12.  Ms. Martha also directs and teaches DancerKids' Summer Dance Camps.

Jan Duffy, Founder of DancerKids, Inc, (BFA, a former professional dancer and choreographer for 16 years, with 28 years teaching experience), became a full-time member of the Woodward Academy Dance Faculty in Fall 2007.)
"Ms. Jan" teaches and choreographs for Company classes as her schedule permits, and assists Ms. Martha with registration, scheduling, costuming, choreography, etc.  (Phil Duffy, Ms. Jan's husband, volunteers his time as DancerKid's Bookkeeper).    Each June and July, Jan Duffy, President of DancerKids, Inc. is in charge of Registration, Scheduling, Placements and other administrative duties.
