I am a minister from Ghana who has
refereed and coached soccer for PRUMC’s Recreation Department
since 1990. When I’m not refereeing and coaching, I operate a 501© 3 charity
named Grace Cross
Cultural Ministries, Inc., which I founded in 1992 to help needy families in
Atlanta and beyond. Our
ministry was established to advance the Gospel of Christ through evangelism,
providing relief and helping
to establish churches in Ghana. We receive donations of checks, toys, computers,
bicycles, appliances,
clothing, and other items that are desperately needed in the poverty-stricken
area around Komkori, my
native village in Ghana. Everything donated to our ministry is taken back to
Ghana and given directly to
those in need.
Soccer is my passion when it comes to
sports. At the end of each soccer season, I collect gifts and donations
from friends in Atlanta and take them to Ghana to help the poor and needy
children and their families.
Last year we started a small computer lab, gave more than 20 children bicycles,
and provided food,
clothing and other supplies to many families. Altogether, we helped more than
200 kids last year. Surely
your gifts were answers to prayers made possible by families in Atlanta. This
year we are growing corn
and are having sewing lessons. A hair salon and photo studio are on the way. We
are working on a
medical clinic and have a scholarship program for students.
Our Spring ’08 soccer season is over and I
will be leaving for Ghana. We are planning to work on a
soccer field. We support the Future Leaders needy children school – a Christian
orphanage that cares
for 81 orphans. We still need help with our “Camp Komkori” program for after
school kids, which helps
get kids off the street. Our soccer program in Ghana needs your help.
GCCM depends on each of you for the time
and money you donate. We count on your to help us continue
to reach the community we serve. Whenever you volunteer or give, you make things
happen. Thank you
for your help. Because of you, GCCM has touched many kids and their families in
Atlanta and beyond.
Thanks again to all who participated in the shipping of a container to Ghana,
Africa with donated items
from loving and good friends. You have been so gracious to this ministry. God
bless you for your
kindness.
The merciful man does good for his own
soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh. There is one who
scatters, yet increases more, ad there is one who withholds more than his right
– but it leads to poverty.
The generous soul will be made rich and he who waters will also be watered
himself. Please pray over
giving a Father’s Day gift to the needy and the less fortunate in Atlanta and
beyond. Yes, moms and dads,
rejoice in His presence. He is a father to the fatherless, He gives families to
the lonely. Psalms 68:5 Give
and it shall be given back to you. May the Lord God of Our Savior under whose
wings you have taken
refuge bless you for it. Your soul is nourished when you are kind. The Grace of
Our Lord Jesus Christ be
with you. Blest be the tie that binds.
I will be in Atlanta through June and part
of July. If you need to improve your child’s soccer skills, I will be
glad to help.
Have Happy Summer Days,
Rev. Peter G. Frimpong
