 Class Description
(Ages 3-5)

Children will eat lunch and then have a weekly 30 minute music lesson.  In these lessons the children will be able to find melodies on the piano through ear training, sing well known songs with dance/movement, learn basic rhythm fundamentals using various percussive instruments and metronomes and learn different music genres using piano, guitar, banjo, and other instruments.

Mr Greg’s Musical Madness is the recipient of 2 national grants for outstanding music programs related to preschool-aged children. The program meets NAEYC Standards (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and Bright from the Start guidelines. 

Here a few things YOUR child will be doing in class:

 

  • Learning, reading, & drawing basic rhythm fundamentals (1/4, half-notes, whole notes) using various percussive instruments & metronome.

  • Understanding dynamics, tempo, and recognizing different genres of music.

  • Singing fun, educational songs with dance/movement from Mr. Greg's Parents'Choice Award-winning "Lots of Fun!" CD, and more.

  • Doing creative, imagination exercises that encourage and instill confidence.  

  • Practicing pitch/ear training: a proven technique to improve reading skills.

  • Creating musical instruments from recycled materials.
