PRUMC Sports and
4-5 year old Tee Ball
- Begin each game by
lining up the teams on the baseline in front of their dugout. The umpire
will announce the two team names. The team on the 1st base line is
the Home team. The home team will offer a short prayer and be on defense
- Instruct the coaches to
have their batters ready in the on deck circle – reminding them that the
faster the game moves – the more fun everyone will have.
- Each team bats through
their order every inning. Coaches should announce to the umpire and the other
team when their last batter of the inning is approaching the plate to bat.
The umpire will instruct the two teams that the last batter will hit and run
all the way around the basses so that not batters are left on base.
- Each game will last for
approximately 50 minutes. We hope to get three full innings in in that time.
If time allows, additional innings may be played but the umpire should discuss
at the umpires discretion (after checking with both teams’ coaches).
- During the game the
umpires should make sure that defensive players are not standing in the
baselines (to avoid injury) and that there are no more that 5 defensive
players in the infield.
- When an out occurs, the
base runner may stay on the base at the discretion of the offensive teams’
- Through out the game
the umpire should assist is making sure bats are picked up after each hit so
as not to cause injury to the base runner coming home from 3rd
- At the games
conclusion, both teams should line back up on the baseline in front of their
dugout and shake hands with the apposing teams players.
6-7 year old Coach
Same as tee ball with the

out is made the base runner must return to the dugout (unless both coaches
- An inning ends upon the
making of a 3rd out or the team has batted through their entire
- After 4 strikes, a
player must hit from a Tee.
