Fall 2010
September 13 - December 16
**NO CLASSES NOV. 22-26**

Shazam Art I
3 years old and up

maximum 10 kids per class

Tuesdays 9:45 to 11:00
Thursdays 9:45 to 11:00
Fee: $260 for 13 classes

Shazam Art I is designed to exercise gross motor skills, strengthen hand coordination and make connections between the visual world and the physical world. But, your child will only see it as FUN! Shazam Art projects will be hands-on, creative, and messy! We’ll learn about color, lines, shapes and more while emphasizing the process, not the outcome. Come discover, explore, and make art with your friends at Shazam!

Projects can include:

Dr. Suess creations
Recycled material musical instruments
Matisse cutout collages
Michelangelo frescoes
Paper mache sculptures
String and glue bowls
Running footprints murals
Mudpies and mud painting
Glitter galore

Shazam Art II
4 years old and up
maximum 10 per class

Mondays 12:15 to 1:45

Fee: $260 for 13 classes

Shazam Art II is a Preschool pick-up class. We will eat lunch, and then get started. The concept is the same as the morning classes but the projects will be more involved and may extend over several days. Still fun, still hands-on projects you can’t do at home, still Shazam!

Location:

Classroom in the PRUMC Recreation facility.

Instructor:

Teacher: Vicky Bratton has been doing ambitious art projects with her own three children and as a parent volunteer at the Preschool for nearly ten years. Vicky is a painter, potter and graphic designer. She has designed over 200 children’s plates for her web-based company, My Clean Plate Club. Vicky has a master’s degree in Art History and is also a Docent at the High Museum of Art where she gives tours on all topics to Atlanta school children. She enjoys “wondering” about art with preschool children and is always amazed at their ability to connect and respond to artwork.
